Jewelry Division

• 30,000 square feet facility located in the Export Promotion Industrial Park at Sitapura, Jaipur (to be raised to 40,000 square feet by October 2005.)

• Employment of more than 400 skilled professionals.

• Comprising a state-of-the-art dust collection system coupled with modern surveillance, security and access control.

The manufacturing facility for the jewelry project involves the use of the following two processes comprising of following stages

Jewelry manufacturing process starts with jewelry designing. After finalisation of design, design is converted into 3D view by JCAD department. After this design is converted into a wax model that in turn can be made into gold, platinum or silver studded jewelry. Hand motors and other mechanized appliances are used to give better finishing to the model.

Conversion of silver model into a mould is done by special type of rubber by Castaldo. The mould is put into a vulcanizer and treated at 302°F, and baked. This model is sandwiched between rubber pieces and then cut into pieces.

Production of the wax replica of a model is done by fixing the mould into a vacuum wax injector, which is a Japanese machine Yasui.

The wax tree created in wax injector is then casted in gold platinum in a specified caratage and kept in a perforated flask with a special type of powder (plaster of paris). The flask is baked in a furnace and then casted into gold by Yasui then shine is given to metal pieces of gold or platinum.

After this metal stripping is done by putting the casted pieces into a electro-polishing machine, the first of its kind in this region called PikaGold by Yasui. The rough outer coat is stripped of providing a glossy finish.

An updated laser-soldering machine helps in making links, loops for the bracelets or pendants. We are the only company in Rajasthan to have such advanced laser guns -Mieko Jr.

Final step is the setting of the stone to its perfection and then polishing the jewelry. For polishing a motor with the speed of 8000 rotation per minutes and special cloth buffs. Rouges are applied to give mirror finishing.
Now the polished items reach our most important department that is Quality assurance whether product visualized through a 10 X Loupe.

Gem Stones Division

• 20,000 square feet gemstone cutting facility at Adarsh Nagar, Jaipur

• Recruitment of skilled cutters, assorters and polishers to painstakingly produce a million carats of colored gemstones a year

• Fully computerized network supported by a custom-designed ERP minimising time and material waste
The manufacturing process of the existing activity comprising of cutting and polishing of gemstones is as follows
Rough gemstones are first assorted and then pre-shaped by grinding process. Calibration is done within specified tolerances and as per the shape. Facets are cut on the stones and polished to enhance the sparkling beauty. The stones are then graded as per the color and quality.
Designing and CAD

• Huge exclusively dedicated infrastructure at Jaipur & Mumbai.

• A strong & dedicated professional teams of more than 130 persons backed with qualified designers from reputed institutes to develop new samples and designs

• Latest CAD / CAM software for design precision and reduced turnaround times

CAD/CAM IN JEWELRY

Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing, computer systems used to design and manufacture products. The term CAD/CAM implies that it can be used both for designing the product and for controlling the manufacturing process. CAD [Computer Aided Design] in jewelry involves creating computer models defined by geometric parameters. These jewelry models typically appear on the computer screen as a three dimensional representation of a part, which can be readily altered by changing relevant parameters.

CAD systems enable designers to view objects under a wide representations and to test these objects in real simulating conditions. Modelling with CAD systems offers wide number of advantages over traditional model making.

• Designs can be altered in CAD before making the master model.
• Offers zoom features analogous to camera lens, whereby a designer can magnify certain elements of a model to   facilitate look and feel of the piece.
• Computer models can be rotated on any axis, much as one could rotate an actual 3d model in one's hand to gain   fuller sense of the object.
• Internal shape of the master model is revealed.
• Can calculate the final weight of the part.
• Lower Product Development cost and short Design Cycle.

Software's being used by our designers are JCAD and 3desgin for modelling purposes. Virtual design is being converted into appropriate formats and fed to the CAM.

DWS029

We use DWS029 as our Rapid prototype machine (CAM). The three-dimensional models are built by a special laser which hardens a proprietary photo-curable resin. The laser head is specifically developed to guarantee high performance and long life. Thanks to the layer-by-layer forming technology, there are no limits to the geometric complexity of the models: undercuts, cavities, thin surfaces and complex shapes can be created without any difficulty.

Translating a geometric-mathematical 3D model - designed with 3D CAD systems - into a perfect prototype is carried out in few hours' time. BluEdge® is a Class 3B laser source created by DWS Research & Development Centre that emits ultraviolet rays which solidify layer upon layer of photosensitive resin. By means of a vertical positioning device, the modelling platform base rises up for a measure corresponding to the thickness of the solidified layer. These motion capabilities, together with a synchronised laser allow the creation of exceptionally complex and precise three-dimensional prototypes.

Otec Epag

The newly developed EPAG (Electro polishing Unit for silver) machine is suitable for polishing trimmed castings and pre-polished parts to a mirror finish. In this process, the work pieces are put as bulk material into a process container together with an abrasive medium. The base of the container (the disc) is free to rotate like a turntable. When the disc is set in motion (whilst the wall of the container itself remains stationery), a vortex is generated which creates a highly efficient grinding effect. With the special techniques we can process very thin work pieces (< 0,4 mm) and to use fine-grain abrasives such as quartz.

Ion plating is a physical vapor deposition (PVD) process that is sometimes called ion assisted deposition (IAD) or ion vapor deposition (IVD) and is a version of vacuum deposition. Ion plating utilizes concurrent or periodic bombardment of the substrate and depositing film by atomic-sized energetic particles. Bombardment prior to deposition is used to sputter clean the substrate surface. During deposition the bombardment is used to modify and control the properties of the depositing film. It is important that the bombardment be continuous between the cleaning and the deposition portions of the process to maintain an atomically clean interface.
